Boca Grande & Englewood Nearshore Fishing Charter Trips & Rates
Grouper, snapper, pelagics, and more
Nearshore fishing charters have the potential to be one of the most exciting trips you’ll ever take!
“Near shore,” for our purposes, refers to the waters from shore out to 9 miles into the Gulf. The Gulf of Mexico has such a vast number of fish, you truly never know what kind of fish you may reel up from below. Our targeted species are grouper and snapper but you may also catch cobia, mackerel, sheepshead, tripletail, permit, jacks, bonito, sharks, or so much more … including the ginormous goliath grouper. We typically fish natural bottom, as opposed to artificial. This includes anything along the lines of hard, rocky bottoms, “swiss cheese” bottoms, and ledges. These areas are usually less fished and more productive than artificial reefs.
- half day (4hrs): $600
- full day (6hrs): $700
We can also specifically target certain pelagic species throughout the year depending on the species peak season. A few of these are king mackerel, cobia, and tripletail. If interested in this option, give us a call to find out when your targeted species is in season, or what is in season during your planned visit.
A nearshore trip is all around fun for any group. You never know what you will catch. Whether jigging for grouper or flatlining live bait for king mackerel or barracuda, you are sure to get some reel screaming action in! Another great advantage to a nearshore fishing charter is the excellent table fare that you are likely to bring home. There isn’t much that beats a fresh cooked grouper or snapper dinner! Certain species have season closures, but don’t worry because there is always an open season for something tasty.
We use a variety of tackle and techniques when fishing nearshore. Both spinning and conventional reels are utilized depending on what we are targeting. An assortment of bait is also key to catching a wider variety of fish. Live, dead, and frozen baits are always brought.
